This chocolate & maca fertility smoothie is amazing. It reminds me of a chocolate malt milkshake. As Nathan would tell you I am a true chocoholic so being able to bring you a fertility smoothie which contains chocolate is like a dream come true. Now don’t get me wrong this isn’t an every day smoothie but I love to have one of these once a week after a difficult fertility workout. Luckily it also contains some ingredients which are great for general and reproductive health.

This chocolate & Maca fertility smoothie is great to help you recover from a workout

Ingredients

  • 2 scoop  Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 2  Banana
  • 1.5 cups or 300ml Almond Milk
  • 2 tbsp Maca Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cacao powder 
  • 1 tsp Hemp seeds
  • 6 ice cubes

This indulgent and malty chocolate and maca fertility smoothie slightly reminds me of a malty milkshake. It feels luxurious to drink, yet i know it’s great for my recovery after a workout with the added benefit of helping my reproductive health whilst TTC. The main ingredient is cacao powder, this is like the organic super-food variant of regular cocoa powder it’s is produced from unroasted & unrefined beans and has one of the highest antioxidant content of any foods. You can find a fabulous organic cacao powder from amazon  or you can use regular cocoa powder which is a little cheaper.

Maca powder is absolutely amazing for fertility, it helps balance your homones, supports sperm health in men and has a fabulous nutritional profile which helps all facets of general health. You can find this in local health stores, but you can often get Maca powder cheaper on amazon.

The other ingredients supply a good amount of iron, zinc and folate which are great for fertility.

Step by Step Instructions for the Post workout Chocolate and Maca Fertility Smoothie

Step 1

Peel you banana and weigh out the ingredients.

Step 2

Place the banana, half the almond milk, the hemp seeds and the cacao powder in your blender and blitz for 30 seconds.

Step 3

Add all the other ingredients to your blender set it to your highest setting and blend for a further 30 seconds. To create a smooth consistency.

 

Step 4

Add ice to your glasses poor your chocolate and maca fertility smoothie over whole ice. top with a small amount of extra hemp seeds Serve and enjoy immediately.

Step 5

If you’re partner isn’t having the 2nd portion put it in an air tight container and place it in the fridge. Drink within the next 48 hours. just add another 2-3 ice cubes and blend again to revitalise the smoothie.
